China scholarship deadlines and timeline for September 2027 entry

Most scholarship rounds close between January and March, so the work starts in autumn. Here are real deadline examples from the last cycle and a plan you can follow.

Last checked October 2026. The 2027/28 notices were not published when we checked, so the dates below come from the 2026/27 cycle. Confirm every date with your university and the official notice.

One embassy's deadline is not yours. Each country and each university sets its own dates, so these are examples, not a calendar.

  1. October to November: choose

    Shortlist programmes and routes. Check your passport validity. Ask for transcripts and start your study plan.

  2. December: documents

    Notarise your diploma, request references, book the medical check, and take any language test or CSCA that your level needs.

  3. January to March: apply

    Submit university applications and the CSC online form. Type A and many Type B rounds close in this window.

  4. April to June: later rounds

    Some university, provincial and Silk Road-style programmes close later, up to the end of May in our examples.

  5. July to August: results

    In the last cycle, results appeared in the system in July and August. Then download your admission notice and visa form.

  6. August to September: visa and travel

    Apply for the X1 visa, book your flights, and register on arrival.
